Generally speaking, Governments across Australia are doing a great job of protecting us against the health impacts of COVID-19 however as the fear bomb that exploded about 6 months ago continues to flare I just cannot help but think that some Governments actions especially recently continue to fan the flames of fear.
State border closures increase fear and create divisions within our community and while they may be intended to eliminate the virus they are definitely eliminating jobs in the process.
We call on all State Governments to work co-operatively with each other and the Federal Government to firstly explain the triggers necessary for opening or closing State borders and then to create a plan to bring back certainty and confidence and create employment within our communities.
We should all be doing our bit to give Government the confidence to re-open State borders by protecting the most vulnerable and acting in a COVIDSAFE manner and the Government should do its bit by opening the State borders so that we are not forced to rely on handouts.
Courage is what`s required now.
